Principals Message

“Munglinup Primary School is the hub of the local community and the children are the heart of our school. Our small size allows for that personal touch and an outstanding high level of care for our students and each other.”

Amy Nelson
Principal

Munglinup PS has a team of dedicated educators who deeply believe that every child is capable of success. They are committed to being the best they can be, step towards challenges, and invest in relationships with each other, the children and families. Regardless of their role, each of them plays a significant part in contributing to our caring school culture.

Situated in a rural farming area between Esperance and Ravensthorpe our school caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 6. We are surrounded by pristine natural bushland all the way along the Oldfield Estuary to the clear turquoise waters of Munglinup Beach lagoon. We pay respects to and acknowledge the traditional custodians of this incredible land on which we live, work and play, the Wudjari Nyungar people. We embrace every opportunity to connect children to their local community and surrounding natural world, empowering them to become active citizens. Without connection and relationship with land it is difficult to love and protect it.

Contribution of parents is welcomed and valued, and the sense of ownership within our community is strong. Generations of school families have attended our school, which has helped to establish an ethos of being a warm, caring and supportive community. In addition to our local community, we ensure connected autonomy between Esperance and the Mallee network schools is prioritised for both students and staff to ensure collaboration and connections across a wider region.
